Welp, we did it folks !

That’s right, we got Ella Minopy. It couldn’t have been possible with all the hope of everyone involved and the patience. And definitely wouldn’t be without Kelly Kerr who we got it from. Now you may be wondering… where do we go from here? Well let me tell ya ! We have three songs and there are in technicality two more. Sick and a song we didn’t know about before , Much too Much. The three songs we received today were tracks 1, 2, and 3. Cosmonaut, Science Fiction, and Irresistible Hook. Now the thing with Sick is we know the Ounces recorded it in the Big Notebook era but nonetheless there was an original recording that was track four. And evolving Much too Much… we don’t know too much. (See what I did there???) But yeah … it happened ! Comment if you want the files and i will post them. ALSO ANNOUNCEMENT: i have started a youtube channel for us Flozzies called Flozzies Inc.™️ i will link that here :  https://www.youtube.com/@FlozziesInc-r7n

Matt, Seth, Prince, And Minopy

In a recent interview with Center Stage: Abandoned Albums Seth timbs told the story on how he and Matt Mahaffey met. Coincidentally he also gave one of if not the first telling of how exactly Ella Minopy was formed. Now I promise after this post we will move on from Ella Minopy but this story is too good to not retell. So the story goes that Seth Timbs and The Mad Hatters , the first known Seth band, had a gig opening for 1492. Aka, Brian Carter’s band. At the time Mahaffey was their drummer so when they got to the venue he was unloading his drums from the truck. Seth was playing some obscure Prince bootleg and Matt recognized the song it was on. When Mad Hatters were playing Matt told Carter that they could be great if they had a better drummer.. “LIKE ME!”  So, soon after somehow after Matt and Seth “bonding” over Prince bootlegs, they decided to kick out that drummer and have Matt join. Soon after they fired their bassist, replaced him with Garry Miller and soon enough. El...

The Long Search for Lower Case G’s

As most of you will come to understand, this is a blog about Spongebath Records and one of the most mysterious bands to ever come out of the Pre-Ounces and Pre-sElf world was a group called Ella Minopy. I’ll have to do a blog about the story on how this group formed but all you have to know is that it’s essentially a supergroup that was formed before the members were superheroes. Seth Timbs: Piano, Vocals. Matt mahaffey: Drums and possibly vocals. Gary Miller, bass. Brian Rodgers, Guitar. There is some possibility Seth played guitar, but no confirmation. Now, for a long time there wasn’t anything much about the group on the internet but not too long ago the track listing and back and front of the cassette tape surfaced on Discogs for “Lower Case G’s.” The only studio or in the words of speculation from @juanhorsetown— “Semi-studio?” release from the group. The tracklist is as follows, A1. Cosmonaut  A2. Science Fiction B1. Irresistible Hook B2. Sick We do however have more so...
