The Long Search for Lower Case G’s
As most of you will come to understand, this is a blog about Spongebath Records and one of the most mysterious bands to ever come out of the Pre-Ounces and Pre-sElf world was a group called Ella Minopy. I’ll have to do a blog about the story on how this group formed but all you have to know is that it’s essentially a supergroup that was formed before the members were superheroes.
Seth Timbs: Piano, Vocals. Matt mahaffey: Drums and possibly vocals. Gary Miller, bass. Brian Rodgers, Guitar.
There is some possibility Seth played guitar, but no confirmation. Now, for a long time there wasn’t anything much about the group on the internet but not too long ago the track listing and back and front of the cassette tape surfaced on Discogs for “Lower Case G’s.” The only studio or in the words of speculation from @juanhorsetown— “Semi-studio?” release from the group. The tracklist is as follows,
A1. Cosmonaut
A2. Science Fiction
B1. Irresistible Hook
B2. Sick
We do however have more songs by the band. “Record Stack” of Fl. Oz’s first record “Big Notebook For Easy Piano” was said to be a post-LCGs Ella song. And Sick, yes the B2 one, was actually recorded by Ounces for Soaking In The Center of the Universe Volume I(if i’m remembering that correctly, it could’ve been Volume II)
Well that’s all for todays post.
I will make sure to post if I get any downloads/snippets of Minopy.
